ADCD211P – Creative Writing (39 Hours)
Design is no good without content. In this module, students will explore creative copywriting techniques to add more zing into their design. Catchy slogans, company mottos and juicy taglines are are quintessential of a good logo or magazine cover. Learn how to turn boring content into interesting reading.
ADMD212P – Web Design (39 Hours)
This subject is an introductory unit to the relatively young media called the web. It explores web design from its infancy and its development. Technological limitations and advancements. It also aims to explain the behaviour pattems of web audiences and how that translates into design issues from layout to typography to technical issues beyond design.
ADMD213P – 2D Animation and Games (39 Hours)
This unit builds on the fundamental skills knowledge in flash CS3 to create animated sequences using a combination of software. This unit complements ADMD211P which allow students to use scripts for greater control in their animations and games
ADPMD214P – Multimedia Project (39 Hours)
This subject builds upon previous modules. You will apply the basics of designing interactive media for the Web and learn the advanced techniques of Web authoring using HTML editors and other interactive application software. You will also be able to prepare rich media for multimedia projects, such as video, audio, interactive menus and moving visuals. These elements, together with advanced authoring techniques, will be applied to enhance the interactivity of web projects.
Semester 2
ADMD221P – Video Fundamentals (39 Hours)
This subject introduces you to the fundamentals of videography. It provides you with the necessary theoretical knowledge of the role of video in design and communication; and the practical skills required to apply the basic principles of videography in image recording using the DV Cameras.
ADMD222P – Video Editing (39 Hours)
This subject provides a detailed and precise look at the artistic and aesthetic principles and practices of editing for both picture and sound. Practical skills are grounded by the exposition of ideas and styles of editing through which the director can understand the visual tools at his / her disposal. This subject puts into context storytelling choices of an editor against a background of theory, history and practice.
ADMD223P – Motion Graphics and Visual Effects (39 Hours)
This is an introductory unit to the world of motion graphics. This is an intensive course on Adobe After Effects CS3 where you will integrate video with graphics in a moving 3D environment and adding visual effects to spice up an otherwise ordinary looking video.
ADMD224P – 3D Animation (39 Hours)
Welcome to the world of 3D, where you will learn first hand how to create 3D objects from scratch using 3D Studio Max. Students will learn how to create 3D models, animate and render. This unit will complement ADMD223P as student learn to integrate 3D Studio Max with After Effects and video to create more
“dimensions” into video production.
