Sketching

This Sketch Art class has the aim to assist students in drawing quickly and effectively or realistically. It aims to achieve this by helping the students learn the fundamentals of drawing from a technical perspective as well as how to envision or compose a drawing fulfilling it’s necessary requirements.

The approach that this course will take is to build confidence and create a method to creating a drawing based on fundamentals. By learning the basics of drawing, and developing and adding them on over an 11-week period, the goal is therefore to track the journey a drawing will usually take.

This class intends to be a useful aid in students aiming to pursue a related career post-course as well as for students who have an interest which they aim to develop further.

Aims
Drawing represents that very basic in visualizing or communicating to others. The aim of this course is to provide you with tools to achieve that.

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, students should be able to:

• Understand the nature of drawing
• Use drawing to communicate effectively and appropriately
• Create compositions and visualize images
• Adapt drawing for specific needs and requirements( be they professional or otherwise)
• Draw effectively within closely-specified parameters
